College Computer Rooms
Desktop Services (DS, also known variously as the MCS or the PWF) - this is a network of computers (both Windows/Linux PCs and Apple Macs) running both popular applications like Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc. and more specialist teaching packages like SPSS. Desktop Services have a centralised file store (DS-Filestore) so you can save work in your own file space and access it from anywhere in the University. Desktop Services also provide a printing service (DS-Print) where you can buy credit to use the DS:Print printers, both in College and elsewhere.
There are two areas in College with MCS computers available for student use - You will need your CRsID and password to login.
The College Computer Room
This is located in the Hostel room 2a. The room should be accessed via the Hostel rear external white glazed door next to the visitors car park and room 2a is immediately behind – both doors are accessible with your University card. The room is available on a 7 day a week 07:30-23:30 basis, with access via your University Card.
The Computer Room is part of the MCS and has three PCs which can be started in either Windows or Linux. There is a Multifunction Device, printer scanner photocopier, which prints all paper sizes up to A3 monchrome and colour.
