College Computer Rooms
Desktop Services (DS, also known variously as the MCS or the PWF) - this is a network of computers (both Windows/Linux PCs and Apple Macs) running both popular applications like Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc. and more specialist teaching packages like SPSS. Desktop Services have a centralised file store (DS-Filestore) so you can save work in your own file space and access it from anywhere in the University. Desktop Services also provide a printing service (DS-Print) where you can buy credit to use the DS:Print printers, both in College and elsewhere.
There are two areas in College with MCS computers available for student use - You will need your CRsID and password to login.
The College Computer Room
This is located in the Theatre Basement, which is the same building as the Ward Library. To get to the Computer Room go down the ramp between the Theatre/Library and Fen Court (as if you were going to the Granta Place gate), just before the gate there are a pair of black doors on the right, go through these doors and the Computer Room is the first door on the right - access is using your University Card.
The Computer Room is part of the MCS and has three PCs which can be started in either Windows or Linux and two Apple Macintosh computers. There are both colour (A4 and A3) and monchrome (A4, double-sided) laserprinters.
The Gunn Gallery West Rooms (Ward Library)
These contain six MCS Windows/Linux PCs located over the ground and mezzanine floors. There is also a monochrome A4 laser printer and a scanner.
