The Ward Library provides a range of IT facilities to support the needs of College students and staff.

Wireless and network connections

There is wireless access (Eduroam & Peterhouse) available throughout the Library.  All desks in the Gunn Gallery are networked: connection leads may be obtained from the Library Desk. We also have some USB chargers and leads that may be borrowed until midnight the same day.

Four networked computers are situated in the West Rooms, off the Gunn Gallery. These computers are in addition to those in the College's Computer Room in Hostel room 2A on Trumpington Street. There is also an A4 monochrome laser printer in the ground floor West Room. See Computing for more information.

One further computer gives access to the Ward Library catalogue only. This is situated near the Front Doors/Cloakroom.

Printing, photocopying and scanning

A multi-function colour printer, photocopier and scanner is available in the Lower Computer Room. UIS charges apply: 5p for an A4 black and white printout/copy and 20p for an A4 colour printout/copy. Scanning to email or USB is free of charge.

A monochrome photocopier stands next to the Library Desk. Charges are 5 pence per sheet for A4, and 8 pence for A3. Bills for photocopying may be paid in cash or may be left on your Library record until the end of Term

See the computing page for more information: Computing at Peterhouse.

Microfiche reader

A microfiche reader is situated in the Upper West Room.

E-resources

A large number of on-line journals, databases and e-books are available via eresources@cambridge on the Cambridge University Library website.

DVDs

The Library has a collection of DVDs, kept near the Library Desk. During term you may borrow one DVD in addition to your book allowance, and on the same conditions. They can be found on the Ward Library catalogue by adding "and DVD" to the usual search terms and selecting the "Words or phrase" or  "Title" searches. There are also two external DVD drives, that can plug into your laptop etc via USB, at the Front Desk that you may borrow for one week.

Accessibility resources

The Library has bookstands, a laptop stand, and dimmable desk lamps that can be borrowed for one day for use in the Library. These are kept at the front desk. There is also an adjustable standing desk near the magazine shelves in the Front Hall.
