Alex Tsompanidis named in the top '40 under 40' of autism researchers worldwide, by Spectrum magazine

Peterhouse Honorary Research Associate, Alex Tsompanidis, has been named in the top '40 under 40' of autism researchers  worldwide, by Spectrum magazine. Alex is a postdoc researcher at the Autism Research Centre of the University of Cambridge, where he also completed his PhD. He is studying the regulation of steroid hormones during pregnancy (e.g. testosterone and estrogens) and particularly how they affect the developing brain and the likelihood of an autism diagnosis in the children. He is particularly interested in the role of the placenta in neurodevelopment and human evolution. He is collaborating with scientists and universities in the UK, USA, Israel and Norway.
