College colours bloom in Old Court this year

Things have been looking a little different in Old Court for the summer of 2024. The iconic window boxes have been transformed into dazzling displays using flowers in the Peterhouse colours.

Usually featuring only pink geraniums, this year the Old Court window boxes have instead been filled with red geraniums accompanied by red begonias, yellow bidens and yellow lysimachia nummularia (also known as creeping Jenny).

The window boxes, along with matching hanging baskets in the Cloisters, were installed back in June, and have transformed throughout the course of the summer into waterfalls of yellow flowers mingled with red blooms.

The Peterhouse gardening team have done a fantastic job keeping the flowers looking their best all summer long for all the College community and visitors to enjoy, as well as the bees and butterflies too.
