College Teaching Associate in History (1 Year Fixed Term)
Peterhouse, seeks to make fixed-term appointment of a College Teaching Associate in History for up to one year from 1st October 2018, ending no earlier than 30 June 2019 and no later than 30th September 2019. The appointment is to cover sabbatical leave of the current postholder.
The successful applicant must be active in research, with a completed PhD (which must have been awarded by the deadline for receipt of applications), and have experience in university-level undergraduate teaching. It is expected that the successful applicant will offer 120 hours of teaching for the College in the field of early modern history broadly defined (up to 20 hours of which may be commuted into University Lectures or Classes at a rate of 2.5:1). It would be an advantage if the CTA were able also to contribute to the teaching of Paper 17 in Part II of the Historical Tripos.
The annualised remuneration will be between £21,750 and £24,667 depending on residential requirements. Single-occupancy accommodation is available. The post is pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS). The successful candidate will also be provided with a range of other benefits including an office and teaching accommodation, membership of the College, dining privileges, Research and Entertainment Allowances, and participation in various College entertainments and events.
