02 May 2018

The College invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for a Fixed Term Early Career College Lectureship in Mathematics, associated with a Fellowship of Peterhouse.

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the areas of applied mathematics and theoretical physics.

The Lectureship is intended to provide a valuable development opportunity for a five year fixed term to an individual at the beginning of their academic career to allow them to build teaching skills, a publication record and other academic activity with a view to obtaining a University appointment in Cambridge or elsewhere. The post is tenable from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2023 (or 1 October 2018 to 30 September 2023) and is not renewable or extendable.

The College typically admits around eight undergraduates a year to read mathematics.

The successful candidate will be expected to reside in Cambridge and will be elected to a Fellowship of the College for the duration of their tenure, which will bring with it membership of the College's Governing Body. Fellows are expected to attend Governing Body meetings, sit on College committees and otherwise actively engage with the life of the College.

The stipend will be on a salary band between points 38-42 of the Cambridge University single spine pay scale (currently £28,936-£32,548).
