This term, the Peterhouse Schools Liaison Team has been visiting state schools in our link areas of Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire and the London Borough of Hillingdon. Our Schools Liaison Officers, Caitlin Saunders and Ellie Bishop, saw a total of 1500 students over the past two months as part of school visits, the Connect to Cambridge scheme, and the University of Cambridge-led HE+ Project.

Ellie spent a week in October visiting Oxfordshire schools and has also given numerous sessions in Cambourne Village College and Comberton Village College in Cambridgeshire. Caitlin spent the first two weeks of November visiting schools in Hillingdon and Nottinghamshire, and also helped to run the launch of the 2017/18 HE+ Nottingham Consortium on November 6th.

The focus for the Schools Liaison Team this term has been A-level subject choice advice for Year 11s. Caitlin and Ellie have also been running study skills workshops for Year 12 students, with the hope of encouraging more students to enter the annual Peterhouse Essay Competitions which should launch in early December. Feedback from Year 11 and Year 12 pupils show that the sessions resulted in students feeling more informed and confident about A-level subjects and university-level study skills.
