A team of researchers, led by the Centre of Misfolding diseases at the University of Cambridge, including Peterhouse Research Fellow Dr Thomas Michaels, have devised the first strategy to ‘go after’ the toxic particles that destroy healthy brain cells in Alzheimer’s disease. This could eventually lead to the development of new drugs to treat dementia. The results have been published this week in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA.
