It all began with the thesis of a young RAF Officer trainee, Frank Whittle, who came to Peterhouse in 1934 to study Mechanical Sciences.   Whittle went on to develop what is undoubtedly one of the marvels of modern engineering.

Current research into the science and technology of the jet engine continues to push boundaries across many engineering disciplines   For those interested in pursuing similar interests, the knowledge and skills developed in our undergraduate engineering course form an excellent foundation.
