University Challenge Victory

Congratulations to the Peterhouse University Challenge team, who beat St John's Oxford 215 points to 30 in the University Challenge Final on Monday, 18 April 2016.

The outgoing Master, Professor Adrian Dixon, congratulates the whole team on an outstanding performance - of which the College is justifiably proud.

He also says that 'the result does not come as a complete surprise, given the remarkable intelligence, enthusiasm and versatility of Peterhouse students. I am sure that Bridget Kendall, who takes over as Master in July, will be equally delighted by this result.

Captain Michael Dobbin awarded the Distinguished Service Order

The College is very proud to announce that Captain Michael Dobbin, Grenadier Guards (matric. 2004) has been awarded the Distinguished Service Order today for his conduct on operations.

This follows on the heels of his Military Cross in 2012.

Col Richard Kemp, former commander of British forces in Afghanistan, said being awarded both the MC and DSO was ‘unprecedented’.

Conclusion of the LGBT+ history month

In response to a request from an undergraduate, members of the College's Governing Body on the 15th February expressed their warm support for the LGBT+ history month initiative. The Porters will therefore be asked to fly the College flag on February the 29th, to mark the conclusion of the LGBT+ history month.

As the College only flies its own flag or, on certain days, national flags, the flying of the College flag is indicative that we are giving our strongest support to the LGBT+ history month.
