Dr Conrad Watt
Conrad Watt is a computer scientist with research interests in formal semantics and verification. He completed an MEng in Computer Science at Imperial College London, followed by a move to St Catharine's College, Cambridge to undertake a PhD. He was previously a Google PhD Fellow in Programming Technology and Software Engineering.
Conrad's current research focusses on the WebAssembly programming language, in particular its security characteristics and concurrency model. WebAssembly is the first new general-purpose language to be introduced to the Web since JavaScript, and has the potential to fundamentally alter our world's digital infrastructure. Since 2018, Conrad has served as an Invited Expert to WebAssembly's standards body, assisting in the development of the language.
