Christening the 'Spirit of 1828'

An appeal to raise funds for a new Janousek single scull with aluminium 3 stay riggers and a new set of blades was launched in March 2017.  The Boat Club were overwhelmed by the generosity of Petrean boaties and almost £12,000 was raised resulting in the opportunity to purchase a second scull.  The first new scull, ‘The Sprit of 1828’, was named at the May Bumps Dinner on 17 June 2017.  The beautiful weather allowed for drinks in Old Court, where Boaties past and present gathered to watch the unveiling of the new boat.

The May Bumps 2017

Petreans joined the Master on the banks of the River Cam to watch the final day of the May Bumps. The spectators gathered to cheer on the Peterhouse teams while enjoying Champane and nibbles in the beautiful gardens of a friend of the College. The same venue has very kindly been offered to the College for 2018 on Saturday 16 June. Places at this event can be booked via our Events Page
