Meet our team of callers for January's Telephone Campaign!
This year's Campaign will take place between 6 and 16 January 2022
Ann is a final-year medical student and has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Peterhouse for the last six years. After graduating with a B.A. in Pathology back in 2019, she is currently an active member of the Clinical School and spends most of her time helping out on various hospital wards. In her spare time, Ann enjoys attending jazz/lyrical dance classes and learning how to play songs on her ukulele.
Thomas is a second-year student studying History and Politics, originally from Royal Tunbridge Wells. He particularly enjoys singing as a choral scholar in Chapel and helping run the College cheese club. Outside of Cambridge, he works as a bartender for the Marylebone Cricket Club.
Sophie is a second-year English student. She uses the pronouns she/her. She loves living and studying at Peterhouse, and has thoroughly enjoyed all the opportunities she has been fortunate enough to have been given by the College, including her time as a choral scholar and a JCR committee member. She is very excited to be able to give back to the College through the telephone campaign. In her spare time, she loves playing and listening to music, writing, and taking part in student theatre. She is looking forward to continuing to enjoy her time at Cambridge and all the interesting, unusual, and unique experiences that it has to offer!
Yasmine is a third-year Law student with varied interests in human rights, intellectual property and sports law. She is the Vice President (Events) of the Cambridge Women in Business Society and is committed to amplifying female voices to break the glass ceiling. Outside of Cambridge, she is a caseworker at a refugee centre and is keen on football, film and writing.
Caitlin is a second-year English student at Peterhouse, originally from South London. This is her second year on the Telephone Campaign, and has really enjoyed the experience of giving back to the college. She is a committee member on the JCR, and also enjoys attending the United Nations Association and writing for student publications.
Emma is a third year Medic from Wigan, intercalating in pathology and history and philosophy of science this year. Outside of her studies she enjoys dance (particularly ballet and jazz) and is on the University dance competition team. She is also a Petrep and CAMbassador, which involves encouraging and supporting potential applicants.
Derek Laud is studying Theology and Philosophy and his research work relates to how politicians use religion in their political discourse. He holds several other master's degrees, including in History and Politics. He is a committee member of the Peterhouse Political Society and very keen on competitive tennis. Derek works in his spare time as an approved NHS volunteer.
Alice is from London and is in her third and final year reading History, specialising in modern European history. She enjoys coxing for the College Boat Club and going for walks around Cambridge in her spare time.
Francesca is in her third year reading history.
Natalie is a first-year history student. She lives in London, and very much enjoys netball, singing and photography amongst other things. She also likes to consider herself a food connoisseur, though she says, that is up for debate!
Sum Yin is an MPhil student studying Politics and International Studies, with an interest in Chinese foreign affairs. She is from Hong Kong and in her spare time likes to read, take walks, and try out different sports. She is currently learning to fence with the Cambridge Fencing Club and is part of the First Aid Society.
