COVID-19 UPDATE

Published:
20 March 2020

In the light of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, Cambridge University has announced it is temporarily moving as far as it can to an online presence only, with most of its buildings closed and most of its staff working from home. Teaching for the Easter Term will move online and there will be alternative assessment arrangements instead of exams.

Peterhouse is also taking measures to minimise the spread of the disease and to protect the health of our students, staff and other members of our community.  For the moment the College is closed to visitors (including alumni) and many of our staff are moving to working from home. Upcoming College events have  been cancelled and other future College events are under review.  Those students who can do so safely have been asked to leave as soon as possible. This is so that we can focus what may be increasingly limited resources on helping those who need to remain in College. Any student who does need to remain and has not yet done so is urged to contact their College tutor as soon as possible.

We very much regret that these emergency steps are necessary. We are aware that they have been extremely disruptive and we would ask everyone for their patience and understanding. This is an extraordinary and unprecedented health crisis, and the safety and welfare of everyone in our community is paramount.  For our students, please be assured that we want to do all we can to maintain our teaching support and pastoral care for all of you over the coming term wherever you are, and we shall do our best to provide practical support for those who remain in College. For our wider community of Petreans, we look forward to staying in touch electronically; for our visitors and prospective applicants, please do continue to explore our College via this website; and for everyone we look forward to welcoming you back to the College once this crisis is over.

In the meantime, we shall continue to update students, staff and our wider community whenever there is any news. Please follow the links below if you would like further information:
