I love showing prospective students around Cambridge, as showing them all the quirks of the city, and within Peterhouse, gets me to appreciate the University anew.

Open Days

Peterhouse Open Days in 2017

We shall be holding four Open Days for sixth-form or Year 12 students who are interested in applying for admission to Cambridge in 2018 or 2019. The dates are as follows:

Important Information

Peterhouse does not admit undergraduates in the following subjects: Education; Geography; Land Economy; Psychological and Behvioural Sciences; and Veterinary Medicine.

  1. Parents are invited to attend the Admissions Presentation, join a tour of College and attend the subject fairs where space permits but unfortunately, due to space constraints, we are not able to offer parents overnight accommodation. Lunch for parents is available in April and September if booked in advance.
  2. Travel: If you are planning on coming to an Open Day, particularly on the June/July dates which coincide with the University Open Days, you are advised not to bring a car into the historic city centre where Peterhouse is located. We suggest that, as well as the normal public transport options, you consider the excellent Park-and-Ride system. The closest Park-and-Ride stop to Peterhouse is Emmanuel Street, which is used by all of the five Park-and-Ride routes. The website includes a map of the City Centre which clearly marks Peterhouse, a three minute walk away. Parking is not available at the College.
  3. Travel Fund: The University of Cambridge has established a travel fund to enable children in (or previously in) care to travel to Open Day events organised by the University and Colleges of Cambridge.

University and Faculty Open Days

There are many Faculty and specialist Open Days during the year. If you are attending one of these, you may have time to visit us at Peterhouse. Please book this with us in advance. On some Faculty Open Days, e.g. Mathematics, we may be organising events to complement the sessions at the Faculty.

More information about the Cambridge University Open Days can be found on the University's website. If you register for a University Open Day, you will receive a programme of all of the events which are taking place (also available on the day).

The Admissions Tutors are happy to respond to specific queries, which should be directed in the first instance to the Admissions Team. Occasionally, it may be possible to arrange to meet either an Admissions Tutor or a member of teaching staff at times other than advertised Open Days. Contact should be made via the Admissions Office. Alternatively, the staff in the Admissions Office are happy to show you around. If you would like to visit Peterhouse, please email us with a preferred date/time.
