The Annual Gathering took a new format for 2019, combining lunch and tea into a Champagne garden party, with finger sandwiches, cake and scones. The festivities were enlivened by a jazz band, which kept everyone entertained throughout the afternoon. The usual programme of lectures and talks concluded the daytime activities, although the glorious summer weather meant many were relcutant to retire indoors. Later on, after guests had changed into their evening attire, drinks were served in the Master's garden and Petreans were able to take a tour of the Brewhouse, which is to be refurbished over the coming months and years. Dinner in Hall followed and accommodation was also available, allowing guests to take ful advantage of their weekend in Cambridge.
