What is a Pet Rep?

The Peterhouse Admissions and Outreach Team rely on the excellent work of our fabulous Pet Reps! A Pet Rep is a Peterhouse Student Ambassador, recruited by the Admissions and Outreach Office to represent the student experience at Peterhouse and assist us with the delivery of both Outreach and broader recruitment events.

To participate in any Outreach events, Pet Reps must attend a training session, covering the importance of providing accurate admissions guidance and the basics of child safeguarding. All Pet Reps must read the College’s child safeguarding policy as a condition of their code of conduct.

The participation of student helpers in outreach work is widely requested by schools and prospective applicants. Feedback from events ran by the Admissions Office emphasises the importance of students acting as role models or aspirational figures for outreach participants. Please see below for some examples of our Pet Reps in action!

If you are a current Peterhouse student and would like to sign up to be a Pet Rep, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@pet.cam.ac.uk
