Booking and the collection of Servery meals
For the time being, Junior members are required to book places for Servery luncheon and dinner using Upay. Each meal session will have a number of half-hour slots, and places can be booked until 30 minutes prior to the start of the meal session, on the day. There are currently 25 places available per half hour, in order to accommodate everyone within a session. If you reserve a place and subsequently are unable to attend please cancel your place as soon as possible, to allow someone else to book. Upon entering the Servery, please ‘check in’ using your University card.
It is not necessary to book places for breakfast or the take-away session at luncheon. Food will be available to take away, or to eat in the Hall.
Meals are available at the following times during the main licence period:
Breakfast Breakfast is served from 8.00am – 9.30am, Monday to Friday
Brunch Brunch is served from 10.00am – 1.30pm on Saturdays only
Luncheon Take-away items will be available from the Servery between 11.00am – 12.00pm,
Monday to Friday
Self-service Luncheon is available from 12.00pm - 2.30pm, Monday to Friday
Dinner Initially, Formal Hall will be unavailable, therefore, self-service dinner will take place
from 5.30pm– 8.30pm daily
Once Formal Hall resumes, self-service dinner will be available from 5.00pm – 7.00pm daily
(food served during the final half hour will be available for take-away only, whilst the Hall is
prepared for Formal Hall)
Junior Members will only be served breakfast, lunch or dinner in Hall on presentation of a valid means of payment. Payment for meals and drinks can be made by using either a University Multipurpose Security Card, or the Upay QR code on a mobile phone. Meal prices are variable, dependent on individual choice of dishes. Prices may move throughout the year in line with market/manufacturers’ movements.
The cost of the meal will automatically be deducted from the balance held on the individual’s Upay account. At present, guests may not be hosted via the Servery or seated in the Hall.
Junior Members are asked to take their trays back to the trolley provided for that purpose after breakfast, luncheon and self-service dinner, and place any take-away rubbish in the bins provided. No College crockery, cutlery or glassware should be stored in gyps.
Meals during the Easter Vacation
There are periods within each of the vacations when the kitchens are closed completely. However, luncheon may be available on weekdays during the Easter Vacation when the kitchens are open to provide other lunches.
