We are delighted to share the news that our former Peterhouse PhD student Dr William M. R. Simpson, now a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College Cambridge, has been awarded the Cardinal Mercier Prize 2021 (awarded to John F. Wippel in 1981, and to Nicholas Rescher in 2005), jointly awarded by The Institut SupĂ©rieur de Philosophie (ISP) of UCLouvain, and the Hoger Instituut Voor Wijsbegeerte (HIW) of KU Leuven for his doctoral thesis.

This is the second international prize that William has been awarded for his doctoral work. Last year he was awarded an Expanded Reason Award awarded annually by the University Francisco de Vitoria in collaboration with the Joseph Ratzinger Vatican Foundation.

We extend our warm congratulations to William.
